Blue Sky Gallery in Portland, Oregon has earned the accolade as having “the best record of discovering new photographers of any artists’ space in the country.” Blue Sky strives quite nicely to show artists whose work exemplifies the finest in photographic vision. This spacious contemporary gallery is in the Pearl District, the primary arts and culture district in Portland. Photolucida is pleased to collaborate with Blue Sky for the fifth year on the Critical Mass solo show award!
Previous Blue Sky solo show award winners include Mitch Debrowner (2010), Nigel Dickinson (2011), Tamas Deszo (2012) and Patricia Gallagan (2013). Previous year solo show award winners also include Heidi Kirkpatrick (2012) and Jamey Stillings (2013) both in collaboration with The Center for Fine Art Photography and Brandon Thibodeaux (2013) in collaboration with the Griffin Museum of Photography.
The Critical Mass 2014 solo show award winner will have his/her exhibition during Portland Photo Month in April, 2015. This is the month of Photolucida’s Portfolio Reviews – our biennial event that brings 60 curators, publishers, gallerists and festival directors to Portland, along with 160 participating photographers from all over the globe. So – an extra amount of tremendously fabulous exposure!
